CHOOSING YOUR KURSCHNER STRINGS BASED ON YOUR OUD AND TUNING

If you have a Turkish oud (scale length 57–59 cm) and tune in Turkish tuning (D F# B E a d), you can choose :

C109: Light tension. The strings are thinner than those with higher tension, making them easier to play. The volume is slightly reduced.
C110: Standard tension. This is the default string set for most players.
C111: Extra high tension. The strings are thicker than standard tension, requiring more hand strength. However, the volume is more powerful.

If you have an Arabic oud (scale length 60–62 cm) and tune in Arabic tuning (C E A D g c), you can choose :

C Arab1: Light tension. The strings are thinner, easier to play, but the volume is slightly lower.
C Arab2: Standard tension. This is the typical choice for Arabic ouds.
