With a curved fingerboard (the traditional kemenche fingerboard is flat), it allows you to play more easily one string at a time. Its shoulders, less wide than those of the traditional instrument, allow you to go further on the fingerboard. Its tailpiece equipped with fine tuners, allows a very precise and fast tuning.

Despite all these innovations, this instrument still give the traditional sound and style of the Black Sea Kemenche, or Pontic lyra.
